This sterling silver ring mounting features a tapered shank with a decorative radiating floral design and a 4-prong mounting that holds one 8 x 6mm (approx.) oval cabochon or faceted stone. This ring requires finishing. Cabochon mountings feature a flat, sometimes open, base and raised edges with two to four prongs that hold a cameo or cabochon securely in place. Set your cabochon into the mounting, then burnish the prongs over the stone to secure it in place. To set a faceted stone, cut a seat in the prongs to accommodate your stone, then burnish the prongs over the stone to secure it in place.
